BIOGRAPHY

​

Astoeth, a sindar of no important lineage, born close to the ending of the Second Age, hails from the lands of Lindon. Trained since childhood to follow in her father's footsteps as a healer, Astoeth has proven herself of having rare talent and incredible skill for this pursuit. Hot-headed and haughty in her youth, the sinda has been tempered gradually by the passing of years and gain of experience.

She is the owner of an esteemed apothecary in Celondim, a town north of the Grey Havens, that is frequently visited by many of all races. The maid is renowned for her research and original approach to traditional healing, as well as being a pioneer and inventor. Astoeth's work is complex and goes through many medical domains.

Taking advantage of the in-born "elven magic", in her youth she claimed that her expertise made her superior to other healers, no matter the race. With the passage of the years and many successes as well as failures, Astoeth learned that there is no true competition between healers and when speaking of saving lives, the more skilled in the field, the better.

She rarely left Lindon, departing only for the surrouding lands to gather material for her pursuits. Of notable mention, are her journeys to Imladris, to become for a time the apprentice of Lord Elrond half-elven. She holds the respect and friendship of many of the race of men and hobbits, as sometimes she travels to the Shire to teach those who are willing to learn the arts of the body.

Astoeth is no warrior, and never wished to wield a blade, considering that upon taking a life her healing talent might be diminished. She accompanied Gil-galad's troups to Mordor and served as a field medic in the War of the Last Alliance, as well as doing the same thing at the Battle of Fornost. During the War of the Ring, she is called forth by Lord Elrond Half-elven, and travels to Gondor to aid those wounded in the war. She arrives at a mark of a few days after the Battle of Pelennor and promptly makes her way to the Houses of Healing, where she worked by the side of one Ioreth, as well as many others. She returns to Lindon six months later and in the Fourth Age, Astoeth is one of the last to sail, when the time of the elves is over.
